What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is fictitious text used in print design and typography. Lorem Ipsum has been the standard filler text since the 16th century, when an unknown printer took a typeface full of printing characters and scrambled them to create a sample book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, while remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularized in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets that contained Lorem Ipsum passages, and later publishing software such as Aldus PageMaker that contained versions of Lorem Ipsum.
